Ultimate Blog Party 2010

Posted by Liz On April - 11 - 2010

blog_party_banner_590x150The 2010 Ultimate Blog Party just kicked off, and I’m joining in the fray! Since my blog was brand new at this time last year, this is my first time participating. So since the UBP is new to me, it’s likely new to most of my regular readers. Let me explain:

The Ultimate Blog Party is a “blog carnival” where hundreds of sites participate, and people follow links to visit and find new sites that interest them. There are prizes, and some AMAZING and great participants! Even if you don’t have a blog, you can be a winner. Just visit and comment on at least 20 of the participating blogs, AND the kickoff post.

Some of the prizes that caught my eye were:

  • A custom blog design (worth $450!!!) from Uniquehorn Designs
  • A goody basket for moms FILLED with pampering and health/fitness goodies from Healthy Moms
  • $50 in jewelry from Cookie Lee (the gift that fits even after you lose the weight!) provided by Kelly Clayton
  • Or a $250 certificate for a stay at any Hilton Garden Inn!

And those were just my favorites!*

For those of you visiting Looking Good (for a mom) for the first time, I’d love to tell you a little bit about my little part of the blogosphere.

I’m a full-time working mom to two wonderful kids, who blogs about nutrition and fitness. It hasn’t always been my passion, but one I found in 2008, after I started losing baby weight that had accumulated from birthing two children.  I’ve since blown way past my weight loss goals, completely retooled my eating habits, gotten a lot stronger, and developed a passion for kettlebell training.

I’m not only worried about my own health, and helping other mothers improve theirs, but I’m also concerned about our kids.  Since I’ve changed my own habits, I’ve noticed changes in my kids and what they want to do and eat. So not only am I healthier, but they are too!

Want to get a sense for what I’m all about? Here are a few of my favorite posts. Also, please watch my featured video. I love push-ups!

You can also find me posting at MomSpace as “Healthy Mom.” Thanks for stopping by – enjoy the Ultimate Blog Party and please leave a comment to let me know what you think of Looking Good (for a mom)!

*Other prizes I would love are INTL3, INTL5, INTL10, INTL11, US43, US60, US75, US84, US108 (don’t judge me), USC49, USC60, or any Amazon gift card or paypal/cash prize

About Me

For many years, I was a typical American working mom, relying on takeout to get me through the busy evenings, and thinking about exercise but too exhausted to find the time. I ballooned from a size six to nearly a size 10 in under a year. I was fat, and I decided I was fed up. My transformation from then to now inspired friends and encouraged me to start this blog. I want other moms to know they don’t need to be satisfied with just “Looking Good (for a mom),” but that they two can make meaningful changes in their lives, health, and fitness.
